MacIver Institute: Who owns your money?

MacIver Institute discusses the philosophical approach that lives in the premises of most (if not all) Democrats in Congress, that is the question of who owns your money, you or the government. You probably remember the argument that extending the Bush tax cuts would cost 9 billion dollars, which we all knew was a ludicrous argument. But that didn’t stop the Democrats and the media from heralding it as a legitimate argument. They argued it because they believe that the government letting you keep more of your money is an expense to the government, because it’s their money. But that very idea is an affront to the very notion of private property and the Constitution.
